LOCATION LOCATION
Milton Combe is derived from ‘Mile Cumbe’ meaning middle valley and is located on the western edge of Dartmoor National Park just up the valley from the confluence of the rivers Tavy & Tamar.
The picturesque village centres around the Church of the Holy Spirit and the neighbouring village hall – originally the Church of England Infant School – whilst the meandering Milton Brook winds its way passed the 68 or so dwellings and holding fort at the top of the village is the reputed C16th public house the ‘Who’d have Thought It’ known locally as the Whody.

A short walk up the hill is the National Trust owned Buckland Abbey with its shop and B.F.G = Buckland Food Growers group with community based allotments should you wish to have your own chickens, bees and produce for the Good Life!

The neighbouring village of Buckland Monachorum – 1.7 miles – boasts an Ofsted rated ‘good’ primary school and a recently opened Buckland Beehive Preschool. The busy village hall has monthly market on a Saturday morning and many events including quiz nights and much more info can be found on the village website www.bucklandmonachorum.org.uk
